Kite Surfed..made it with no broken bones

On Monday I got a two hour lesson from Mac, an instructor at Exokite. Jack and I did a lesson with them earlier in the year and I was able to get back into the water quite quickly. Today I had another 1 1/2 hour lesson and then was let loose! Had a blast for about 3 hours trying to "perfect my skills"....felt a lot more comfortable being out there and the winds of around 20 knots were perfect. Unfortunately no pictures of my kiting jumps and turns! The beach at Los Barilles is perfect for surfing as the north blowing wind is consistent AND runs parallel to the beach making it easy to leave and return to the beach, the latter being very important. Big thanks to Megan, owner of Exokite and her team for such a fun time.

The only problem......jelly fish! Got stung a couple of times while having both hands holding the kite bar. Fairly strong burning feeling which goes fairly quickly if vinegar is applied, but the rash stays on for a fews days.

Not me - another beginner at the beach...
