Hike day - The Sierra de la Lagunas

Todos Santos nestles at the foothills of The Sierra de la Laguna, the mountain range at the southern end of the peninsula in the state of Baja California Sur, and I was told there are some great hikes. Having got some info. of where to start the hike at our party on Wednesday night I set off at 5.30am to find it. The place I went to is only about 14 miles outside of Todos Santos and I made it to the top of the range so I could see over the other side! It was about a 9 1/4 hour hike, very hot, but lots to see and surprisingly green. I did not end up on a "mountain top" per se, but was well satisfied. Did not see any other hikers until right at the end of the day when I passed a school group going to spend the night in the range.

Will do it again.

The Sierra de la Laguna at the southern end of the peninsula in the state of Baja California Sur and UNESCO designated it a global biosphere reserve (a place to promote research, training and communications in ecosystem conservation and rational use of natural resources).
